Dry storage is important for wood burning.* A cord of wood is stacked 4’x4’x8′. On average, a 1,500 sq. ft. home will require 2-4 cords per season.
*Note: It is extremely important to plan ahead when purchasing a wood burning insert or stove. Wood that is referred to as “seasoned” is not dry enough to burn efficiently or to light easily. Wood that is “seasoned” will need an additional six months of storage in a dry space, otherwise, it is important to find a reliable source of actual “dry wood”.
